What's New for 2022?
The new 2022 Yukon offers updates in technology, safety,
and performance. The Driver Information Center is now standard for all
trim levels for more convenience. The Yukon adds the Buckle to Drive
feature to ensure everyone has their seat belts buckled. The adventurous
AT4 now offers the 6.2-liter V8 for more power and capability.
Performance
There are three engine options available for the new Yukon,
allowing you to choose the engine that matches your driving needs best.
All engine options come with a ten-speed automatic transmission that
provides effortless gear shifting and ensures you are always in the
right gear ratio. The three engine options available include:
- 5.3-liter V8: 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque
- 6.2-liter V8: 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque
- Duramax® 3.0-liter turbo-diesel: 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque
When you choose the Duramax® 3.0-liter turbo-diesel
engine, you can expect to reach maximum torque earlier in the rev range,
making it easier to navigate challenging terrain and tow heavy
equipment. The turbo-diesel engine also offers a 648-mile range on a
full tank for the Yukon and a 756-mile range on a full tank for the
Yukon XL.
All Yukon SUVs come with standard rear-wheel drive, but
there is the option of a two-speed transfer case that conveniently makes
it possible to switch into and out of four-wheel drive. You can choose
settings like Automatic Four-Wheel Drive, Four-Wheel-Drive High, and
Neutral to adapt the performance of the Yukon to meet your needs.
Capability
If you want to get the most out of your outings by towing
your favorite equipment, the new Yukon offers the power and intelligent
technology needed. When properly equipped with the Max Trailering
Package, the Yukon can tow up to 8,400 pounds. Not only will you have
impressive strength, but the new Yukon includes state-of-the-art
trailering technology.
Some of the trailering technologies available include:
- Hitch Guidance with Hitch View
- In-Vehicle Trailering App
- Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert
- Trailer Camera Provisions
- Trailering Assist Guidelines
Design
The new Yukon stands out on the road with its dominating
presence and square-jawed good looks. The standard LED lighting includes
LED fog lights that make for a striking appearance during the day and
enhanced visibility at night. When you choose the adventurous AT4 trim
level, you can expect rugged exterior features, such as skid plates, red
recovery hooks, and GoodYear® all-terrain tires.
The interior of the Yukon offers plenty of room for
passengers and cargo. The Yukon provides 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space
behind the third row and 34.9 inches of third-row legroom, while the
Yukon XL offers 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and
36.7 inches of third-row legroom.
